Professional Development Opportunity
The National Executive Team is looking for someone to take on the role of Northern Regional Leader.  This is a voluntary position on the team.

Ideally you will have been a past Group President, or at least have several years’ AAPNZ experience, as you will be mentoring Group Presidents in the Northern Region.  You must be a current AAPNZ financial member and live in the Northern Region (Auckland, Waikato, Tauranga, Rotorua).  You will be expected to attend regular National Executive Team Skype calls and face-to-face meetings (flights to Wellington and accommodation are covered), or submit timely reports for consideration at these meetings.  You should be a team player but also possess personal initiative and share a passion for the administrative profession.  An ability to think strategic big picture is also useful.

Opportunities in School Administration with the Open Polytechnic

Open Polytechnic is a specialist provider of vocational open and distance learning. We contribute to an integrated national system of lifelong learning, to develop an independent, skilled and internationally competitive workforce.

The School of Health and Social Sciences and the School of Business and Enterprise are seeking School Administrators. School Administrators are responsible for providing the administrative support that underpins the effective delivery of our courses and programmes. They working closely with the Programme Delivery Managers, the Head of School and other key internal stakeholders to provide information and maintain systems and processes in a timely and accurate way.

A learner-centric, service based approach is a vital ingredient as is the effectiveness of your relationship management skills, your flexible work practices and reliable consistency.

The ideal candidates will possess:

  • Experience providing high quality administrative support in a complex service delivery environment.
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Proven track record of simultaneously planning, leading and managing multiple administrative tasks.
  • Proven track record of building effective and productive relationships with all clients/stakeholders through the application of effective communication strategies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience of the tertiary education sector would be helpful, but is not an essential.
  • An understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and EEO principles and their wider obligations.
