Scholarships

Doreen Smart Scholarship

AAPNZ established the Doreen Smart Scholarship (named after the Association’s founder) in 1997. NET awards this annual scholarship to an AAPNZ member(s) for training and learning opportunities that contribute to the member’s personal/professional development. A total of $1000 is awarded each year.

What may the Scholarship be used for?

The scholarship is awarded for learning opportunities in business administration as well as leadership areas. The successful applicant may use the scholarship to enrol in or undertake a qualification, enrol in a training programme or obtain specific work experience.

Eligibility

All Full, Affiliate and Student members of AAPNZ are eligible to apply for this Scholarship.

Closing Date of Applications

The closing date for the Doreen Smart Scholarship is 17 November.

PART I

Please provide a full statement of support including:

  1. Why your application meets the criteria for the scholarship.
  2. How this opportunity is relevant to your personal/professional development and how it might relate to the Association of Administrative Professionals NZ (AAPNZ) as a whole.

PART II

Please have the Group President and the Group Membership Officer endorse your application by writing and signing a statement affirming their endorsement. Add their endorsements to your application.

PART III

Please have one of the following provide a full statement of support to confirm that your proposal is relevant to your personal/professional development. Be sure the statement has been signed and dated and includes the signer’s title and contact details.

  1. Employer
  2. Tutor or workplace assessor if you are a student
  3. A reputable verifier if you are not an employee
