Speaker: Vicki Carne, Health Coach @ Ignite your Sparkle
Vicki integrates her knowledge, experience, skills and strategies to maximise her potential to help others. She wholeheartedly supports others to go from feeling stressed, tired and out of shape to feeling energised, positive, confident and in great shape to face any adversities that life throws at them.
Nicknamed Sparkles, it is Vicki’s incredible enthusiasm to face adversity with a smile and transmute this into helping others to live their one precious life as the happiest, healthiest version of themselves, that Ignites her Sparkle!
Vicki’s love of exploring and living life to the fullest saw her back packing and working around the world upon completing her Bachelor of Science degree. Exploring every continent bar Antarctica, she’s travelled around 108 countries.
Her love of adventure, the great outdoors and for challenging herself propelled her to enjoy experiences that many would deem crazy, but she loved. These include Great White Shark cage diving in South Africa, sky diving over the Namib Dessert, a 4 day camel safari through the deserts of India, white water rafting the Zambezi River, trekking to Annapurna Base Camp in Nepal, exploring the River Nile by stay-aboard felucca and bungy jumping at Victoria Falls.
This tenacity coupled with her thirst for learning about the intricacies of the human body and how we’re best able to eat, move and think to maximise our potential and truly live our best life with ease, compelled her to becoming a competitive endurance cyclist, then upskilling and working in the health and wellbeing industry.
She’s combined this with her passion for helping others to undertake ventures such as biking the Enduro (twice around Lake Taupo non-stop – 320km) and from Taupo to Palmerston North (over 250 km in one day) with groups of like-minded cycling friends to raise money for charities such as the Cancer Society.
In 2018 Vicki’s life suddenly came to a stand-still with an inconceivable diagnosis.
This challenge, her determination to live and the journey she endured along with the unfailing support from her family and friends fueled her passion for being a Health Coach.
